How often do you put out Youth Group Calendars?

· I try to get calendars out ever 4-6 months

Can I help provide Snacks for EDGE on Tuesday nights?

· Yes! We depend heavily on parents bringing snacks for the students. We currently do not have the finances to buy snacks on a weekly basis.

· You can sign up to bring snack, or donate money for us to buy the snacks

Can I donate money to help support the Oasis group?

· Yes! Over the 9 years I have been here at the church we have received gifts from parents ranging from $10 to $10,000. Every Dollar of those donations goes directly to support the Student Ministries department. We have used the funds for Scholarships for kids to attend Camp with us, improvements in the Youth Room, Hiring of interns to help with the student ministry program and also the purchase of a youth room computer.

Who do I make the check out to for Trips or Donations?

· You can make the check out to “HSCC” or “High Street Community Church”

Can any student in Jr. High School come to EDGE?

· Yes. We have Students from a number of different Jr. high schools, as well as home school students.

· As Long as the Student is in the age range of traditional Jr. high school ages, they can certainly be a part of EDGE. We welcome all Jr. high school age students!

Does EDGE meet during the Summer time?

Some youth Groups do not meet during the summer time

EDGE has a full program through the summer

Do people have to pay to come to EDGE?

· No. Students do not have to pay to come to EDGE.

· However, occasionally we will ask for students to bring money for an event on Tuesday night like laser tag, or to help with the cost of pizza or something like that

· However, if a student cannot come up with the funds they are never turned away to a mid week event.

· Trips are a different situation. We try very hard to have scholarship money so we can have all kids attend, but sometimes our scholarship money is empty and we cannot offer them to students.

Can a student show up once a month?

· Yes. Students can show up once a year, or every Tuesday. We do not keep an attendance record. We are excited when kids can come to EDGE anytime.

Can they show up for the last 30 minutes of EDGE?

· Yes. We do like the students to be there the whole time, but we understand that they have homework, sports, jobs and other aspects of their life. We do ask if they can get there by 8:30 and stay until 9pm so they don’t interrupt other students during the discussion and talk time.

· However if a student can’t make it until 8:35 or 8:45 we love for them to still come and poke their head in.

Can I drop my child off early at the church sometimes?

· Sometimes. I love to have students come by the church and hang out or arrive early. However there are times that I and the other leaders may be in a meeting or off campus until 7pm. Please call or Text me to see if it will work for students to come early.

Do you ever leave the campus on a Tuesday Night?

· Yes. We will do occasional scavenger hunts or events off campus.Tuesday nights we will never leave Santa Cruz (occasionally we will be in Scotts Valley for pizza or icecream, and in the summer time we sometimes go to the boardwalk)

· I will do my best to have those events on the calendar so you as a parent know what is going on

Will you force my Child to become a Christian?

· This was a question I was asked about 7 years ago by a parent. The answer is no. We don’t force anyone to make a decision to follow Jesus.

· We have many discussions and talks about Jesus, God, the Bible, life decisions and many other things. We invite kids to consider believing in Jesus, but we never push, nor do we ever force. All kids are welcome at EDGE regardless of their beliefs or backgrounds.

Does the church have a website?

· Yes. www.hscchurch.org

Does the youth group have a website?
